The Central District is looking for individuals and churches; lay people and pastoral leaders; pioneers and team players to invest in the work of planting churches.

You may have an idea about church planting that you wish to explore further; you may be working on strategic planning in your church and considering ways to expand your outreach; you may be considering God’s call to be a church planting pastor or part of a church planting team; or you may be ready to invest your support in prayer and finances for this important work. We are interested in your ideas, strategies, or questions.

The mission of "multiplying healthy churches among all people" demands a strong commitment for planting new churches in the Central District. Our vision is to plant all kinds of new Evangelical Free Churches in every part of our district to reach all kinds of people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Central District has almost tripled in the number of member churches since 1989 when the district conference made a specific commitment to vigorous and intentional church planting. We believe that is a good start but there is much more work to be done.

We agree with the statement made by Tim Keller: "The vigorous, continual planting of new congregations is the single most crucial strategy for 1) the numerical growth of the Body of Christ in any city, and 2) the continual corporate renewal and revival of the existing churches in a city" (Why Plant Churches by Tim Keller, February 2002).

You are invited to partner with us as we pursue the Great Commission of Jesus Christ through the starting of new Evangelical Free Churches in Arkansas, Iowa, Missouri, and southeast South Dakota.
